Sharpening Services
REPAIR & RESTORATION WORK:
- Services such as broken tips, chips, re-edging, and rust removal start at $10 and up.
- Pricing depends on the condition and severity of the damage.
- Contact us for quotes on large repairs, restorations, or unconventional pieces.
PRICING:
- Standard Kitchen Knives: $10 minimum for knives 8" and under ($1.50/inch after 8")
- Single-Bevel Blades: $20 minimum and up
- Cleavers: $15 - $30
- Kitchen Scissors: $15 - $30
- Unique Non-Culinary Knives: Premium rates apply
- Clean Knives Only: $10+ per knife for all soiled or dirty blades (e.g., dried food, grease).
TURNAROUND TIME:
- Standard turnaround is up to 48 hours, depending on the job and the number of knives ahead of you.
- Service is first come, first serve. We will text you when your knives are ready.
- Saturday drop-offs will be available for pick-up the following week since we are closed Sundays.
- Please call ahead to schedule an appointment if you have a large number of knives.
- We will text you when your knives are ready for pickup.
This is not a drop-off-and-wait service.
Preparation Requirements:
- Clean Knives: All knives must be fully cleaned and sanitized before dropping them off.
- Itemized List: Provide an itemized list with the number of knives, size, and description, along with your name and phone number.
- Restrictions: No serrated knives, no knife blocks, and only clean knives will be accepted.
Out-of-towners: Appointments and Ship Ins
- Driving In: If you are driving in from out of town, please call to make an appointment prior to drop-off. Same-day service is not available.
- Mail-In Service: Subject to our COVID sanitation policies.
Shipping Instructions:
- Address: Ship knives to Coutelier NOLA, 8600 Oak St, 1B, New Orleans, LA 70118
- Turnaround: Up to 5 days after receiving the package, depending on the quantity and level of service. Packages will be returned via USPS Priority Mail.
- Return Shipping: Email us a pre-paid return label if you have a courier preference. Request insurance or signature upon return if needed.
- Documentation: Email an itemized list of knives included, details of the service required, return shipping address, and contact/payment info. Include a packing slip inside the box.
- Packaging: Ensure knives are safely and thoroughly packaged.
Once we receive and service your knives, we will call you for payment and ship them back immediately with tracking information.
