Professional Knife Sharpening & Repair Services
REPAIR & RESTORATION WORK
Our specialized knife repair services—including broken tip repair, chipped edge removal, re-edging, and rust removal—starting at $10 and up. Restoration pricing depends on the condition and severity of the damage. Please contact our New Orleans shop for custom quotes on large-scale repairs, restorations, or unconventional cutlery pieces.
SHARPENING PRICING
We provide hand-sharpening on Japanese whetstones for both culinary and specialty knives:
- Standard Kitchen Knives: $10 minimum for knives 8" and under ($2/inch after 8").
- Japanese Single-Bevel Blades: $20 minimum and up (includes Yanagiba, Deba, and Usuba).
- Meat Cleavers: $15 – $30.
- Outdoor/Pocket Knives: $15
- Unique Non-Culinary Knives: Premium rates apply.
- Clean Knives Only: A $10+ cleaning fee per knife applies to all rusted, soiled or dirty blades (e.g., dried food, grease).
TURNAROUND TIME
Our standard knife sharpening turnaround is up to 3 -4 days, depending on the job complexity and the volume of knives currently in the queue.
- First Come, First Serve: Service is processed in the order received. We will text you as soon as your knives are ready.
- Weekend Drop-offs: Saturday drop-offs will be available for pick-up the following week, as our shop is closed on Sundays.
- Large Orders: Please call ahead to schedule an appointment if you have a large number of knives for sharpening (6 or more).
- Pickup Policy: We will text you when your knives are ready for pickup. Please note this is not a "drop-off-and-wait" service.
Knife Sharpening Preparation & Shipping Requirements
CLEANING & RESTRICTIONS
- Clean Knives: All knives must be fully cleaned and sanitized before dropping them off at our shop.
- Cleaning Fee: A $10+ fee applies to any soiled or dirty blades.
- Restrictions: We do not accept serrated knives or knife blocks. Only clean, individual knives will be accepted for service.
OUT-OF-TOWN CUSTOMERS: APPOINTMENTS & MAIL-INS
- Driving to New Orleans: If you are driving in from out of town, please call to make an appointment prior to drop-off. Please note that same-day sharpening service is not available.
- Mail-In Knife Sharpening: Our national mail-in service remains subject to our current sanitation policies to ensure the safety of our staff and customers.

If you are using our mail-in sharpening service, please follow these instructions carefully:

New Orleans, LA 70118 - Turnaround Time: Sharpening typically takes up to 5 business days after we receive your package, depending on the quantity and level of service required.
- Return Shipping: All packages are returned via UPS Ground. If you have a specific courier preference, please email us a pre-paid return label.
- Insurance: Please request insurance or a signature requirement for your return shipment if needed.
- Required Documentation: Email us an itemized list of the knives included, details of the service required (sharpening or repair), your return shipping address, and contact/payment information. Please include a packing slip inside the box.
- Safe Packaging: Ensure all knives are safely and thoroughly packaged to prevent damage or injury during transit.
Payment: Once we receive and service your knives, we will send an invoice for payment. Your tools will be shipped back immediately with tracking information provided via email.
