Nigara Hamono can trace their roots 350 years to the swordsmiths of the Tsugaru Clan, in the early Edo period. Nigara Hamono pride themselves in blending their rich legacy with modern designs, while still maintaining the fine edge Japanese knives are known for. 

VG-XEOS is a newer stainless steel from Takefu Steel Works, and offers a longer edge retention, hardness, & corrosion resistance compared to other stainless steels.
